YCK district continues to grow

Small bars around Sydney Streets in York, Clarence and Kent continue to give the newly launched neighborhood a boost, launching Night Over Light; a series of 76 events in 15 bars as part of this year’s all-new Sydney Solstice celebration.

From June 8 to 20, the YCK District aims to showcase the best of Sydney’s nightlife entertainment scene, bringing the area to life after dark through food, music, entertainment, the arts and entertainment. night culture.

Night Over Light follows the highly successful YCK Laneways Block Party with the diverse schedule of events taking place at participating venues including: Since I Left You, Papa Gede’s, The Lobo, Spawn Point, The Barber Shop, The Duke of Clarence, Stitch Bar, Prince of York, Grandma’s Bar, Uncle Mings, Sammy Jnr, The Swinging Cat, PS40, Esteban and Burrow Bar.

YCK Laneways Representative and Chairman of the Independent Bar Association Karl Schlothauer said: “Following the success of YCK Laneways Block Party, we are absolutely delighted to announce Night Over Light as we continue to work as a collective to create unique events that inspire Sydneysiders to rediscover their favorite little bars and make the city prosper again ”.

Night Over Light will include a range of free and paid events, with the number of events being limited, so reservations are highly recommended.

As well as enjoying an impressive array of cocktails, those heading to Night Over Light will be greeted by an exciting array of live musical acts. The series includes weekly jazz performances, Caribbean-themed music, late-night DJs, exhilarating funk and boogie, intimate acoustic sets and more.

New additions to the program include Latin Nights at Esteban, a live music series featuring the rhythmic sounds of Latin America with music ranging from samba and tango; Funked Up Sundays at the Barbershop begin with DJ set The Goods playing a live mix of neo-soul, funk and hip hop; and Sunday lunch Analog Discogue in the SILY courtyard, accompanied by a Japanese-inspired Izakaya menu.
