[Today’s K-pop] TXT will return with the 2nd LP on May 31

Tomorrow X Together will release their second full album on May 31, according to an announcement made on Friday.

The album is called “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze” and welcomes the start of a new story. The boy group woven their story through the concept of dreaming, starting with the debut EP “The Dream Chapter: Star” which continued with the debut studio album “The Dream Chapter: Magic” and then the second EP “The Dream Chapter: Eternity. Before moving on to the next series, the quintet released “minisode 1: Blue Hour” last year.

The Interlude EP ranked No. 25 on the Billboard 200, the highest for the group, and also topped Billboard’s triple digits: Top Selling Albums, Top Selling Current Albums, and Global Albums.

There are reports that TXT will return in May, about seven months after “Blue Hour,” but the Big Hit Music label didn’t confirm their return until last week.

Seventeen Lives For Billboard’s Social Artist Award Against BTS

Seventeen was nominated for Best Social Artist from the Billboard Music Awards, according to the list of nominees released on April 29 local time.

This is the first nod to the music award for the 13-piece act. They will compete for the trophy against BTS and Blackpink, as well as Ariana Grande and SB19, a Filipino boy band. The winner will be decided by the votes of the fans.
The category was dominated by BTS who was nominated five times and won four consecutive years until 2020.

“The nomination itself is an honor for us,” the band’s comrades said in an interview which was broadcast live after the announcement. They thanked Carats, their official fandom, for making it all possible.

Mark from GOT7 signs with the American agency CAA

Mark of GOT7 has signed a contract with Creative Artists Agency, according to US media reports on Thursday.

The Chinese-American idol is seeking to consolidate its position in the United States, and the agency will help it expand its digital presence, they speculated. CAA is a leading entertainment and sports agency whose client list includes musicians Beyonce, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, actors Tom Cruise, George Clooney and Nicole Kidman as well as footballer Son Heungmin.

Mark made his debut as a member of GOT7 in 2014 and returned to the United States in January when the seven members decided not to renew their contracts with JYP Entertainment. From his home he restarted his YouTube channel which was opened in 2010 but was discontinued. Even though there were no downloads, the channel had 1 million subscribers. It now has over 2 million subscribers and it has around 23 million subscribers on social media platforms.

He is working on a solo album and will soon be releasing his first single.

G (I) -dle’s new single tops the musical charts

G (I) -dle’s new single, “Last Dance,” has taken the music charts at home and abroad by storm.

The song was unveiled on Thursday and went straight to number one on Korea’s major music charts. It also landed at the top of the iTunes K-pop song chart in five regions and entered the top 10 of eight while also ranking in the top 10 in 18 regions of the unique songs chart.

The five members put on dazzling performances to the hypnotic beats of the deep house pop song created by hip-hop producer GroovyRoom in the music video. Soojin, who has suspended all activities due to a bullying controversy, made a minimal appearance in the video and the song was re-recorded to exclude her vocals.
