Many in North America consider cities like Las Vegas, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York to be hot spots for entertainment. Still, stories of nightlife in Europe have long permeated after-party restroom and dancefloor conversations across America.

Some diehard ravers and dance music fanatics will stop at nothing to find the best nightlife experiences the world has to offer. If this sounds like you, look no further. In this guide, we provide a definitive list of cities to visit, where to stay, and our pick of two must-see clubs.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is one of the most popular European destinations for young people who want to party. On weekends, most bars stay open until 3 a.m. while dance clubs stay open all night. When you’re ready to sleep, we recommend staying at St Christophers at The Winston, ideally located in the heart of the city.

Below are the two best places to party in Amsterdam.

Gashouder

Located in the Westergasfabriek gas plant complex in the northwest of Amsterdam, Gashouder is an exceptional venue and event space housed in a former industrial building. With a capacity of 3,500 seats, it hosts large-scale club evenings. It’s a dome shape, huge disco ball, and pyrotechnic production and interchangeable stage have made it home to some of Europe’s most spellbinding shows.

NYX Club

This three-level, four-room nightclub is one of Amsterdam’s most mysterious and unique places. The only thing more fascinating than the music at NYX is its layout, with a large rectangular main room, a room with a stripper pole on the second floor, a bathroom with a DJ spinning in front of a common sink, and a fourth. room known for its intimate space.

Barcelona

Barcelona is considered one of the best party cities in the world as it has an eclectic party scene. With late night beach clubs, sexy boat parties, street parties, and regular music festivals, there’s a lot going on here.

The St Christophers Inn has an award-winning Barcelona hostel located in the heart of the city, at the upper end of the famous Las Ramblas. We recommend Razzmatazz and Sal Apolo for partying in Barcelona.

Razzmatazz

This nightclub and concert venue is five clubs in one: an indie rock club downstairs, techno in two upstairs venues, and two more relaxed spaces for pop, electro and disco music. Razzmatazz is located in the Poblenou district of Barcelona and it is one of the largest in the city, with a capacity of over 2,000 people in its main hall.

Berlin

Home to one of the most exclusive and intense clubbing venues in Europe, Berlin is a must-see city for any international partygoer. Check out our two best places to party below. The St Christophers Inn also has hostels in Berlin, with Alexanderplatz being the perfect base for an epic night out in Berlin.

Club der Visionaere

It’s a rustic, understated place between Kreuzberg and Treptower Park, set along a canal in a small brick building, with offices upstairs and a dance floor downstairs. In a way, it’s more of a bar or nightlife than a nightclub.

The dance floor seats less than 50 people and the sound system, while clear, is a bit quiet. Most of the participants spend their time standing on the wooden terrace outside or sitting under the weeping willow which overlooks part of the club. Most of the venues are by the canal, but there is also a second space at street level where a pizzeria is open most evenings in the summer.

Berghain

This world famous nightclub is known as the Church of Techno. Famous for being open all weekend, it features the best underground techno the world has to offer and is a hedonist’s dream. From Friday evening to Monday morning, revelers will dance from sunset to sunrise all weekend long.

Ibiza

This iconic Spanish island is widely regarded as the clubbing capital of the world. With 10 of the world’s most renowned beaches and nightclubs, it’s hard to choose just two. We recommend that you stay at the eclectic ’80s-themed Wiki-Woo-Hotel, located on the Sunset West Coast of Ibiza, a short walk from the famous O Beach Club.

Amnesia

With a capacity of 5,000 people, Amnesia is a must see place to visit. Here you will experience a party like never before. Arguably the quintessential Ibiza clubbing experience, Amnesia has two massive venues: the Club Room; a dark cavernous cauldron, and the terrace; a vast arena with a glass roof that floods in light when the sun rises.

Ushuaia

Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel is made up of two separate buildings. The Ushuaia Club houses the rooms and hosts the hotel’s famous parties. Guests have free entry to the hotel’s DJ concerts at its epic rooftop pool club.

London

London’s nightlife offers something for everyone. Whether you are looking for local pubs or upscale superclubs, you can be sure to find it in London. And with so many places open all night, the party doesn’t have to end until sunrise.

When you’re ready to sleep, settle into the unique location of St Christophers Inn – London Bridge Village, which features Japanese-inspired capsule beds with USB ports, mood lighting and curtains for a ultimate privacy. They also have dorms and private rooms to choose from.

Underground village

This place is a creative cultural center housed in four refurbished tube cars, two shipping containers and a warehouse. It accommodates around 700 people for concerts and club nights. As the name suggests, this is one of London’s must-see places to experience the city’s vibrant underground music scene.

Ministry of Sound

Celebrating three decades of dancing, the Ministry of Sound first opened in September 1991. Inspired by the cavernous house music clubs of New York City, it was the first dedicated house music nightclub in the region and the first in the world with a hall built purely for exceptional sound quality. This legendary venue has three rooms, the main room, called the Box, which has a sound system that lines the entire room, ensuring consistent sound no matter where you are standing.

Paris

Paris’ nightlife can go unnoticed compared to hotspots like Barcelona and Berlin, but don’t underestimate the party potential. The Parisian night scene is flourishing.

Paris promises unique discos, cabarets and nightlife. Bars are always free, but discos are generally chargeable. The St Christophers Inn has another multi-award winning hostel, Gare Du Nord, conveniently located directly opposite the Eurostar International Station of the same name.

The Arc

This is an upscale nightlife spot with edgy interiors and a champagne menu, plus a rooftop garden with city views where celebrity sightings are commonplace. The club also features great headlining artists and the local elite often come to play.

The Parisian

It’s Paris’ best-kept secret and a must-see if you’re in the city during the week. La Parisienne is only open on Tuesdays and offers a mix of hip-hop and electronic music and a burlesque show at 1 and 3 a.m. in an intimate nightclub in the basement. Plus, it’s an industry night, when local DJs, artists, and Parisian nightlife staff come out to party.
