South Korean rapper BI breaks YouTube record for first music video of KPOP’s first male soloist in 24 hours

On June 1, South Korean rapper, singer / songwriter and record producer BI released his debut album as a solo artist. The album is called ‘Waterfall’. It was a highly anticipated album. With the release of a music video for the title track ‘Illa Illa’. We think the album as a whole looks amazing, so it certainly deserved one of the YouTube record breaking music videos.

“Illa Illa” became the most watched first K-POP male soloist music video in the first 24 hours. This record was broken on June 2. By 22 hours, the clip had surpassed 10 million views. This made it the fastest first male K-Pop music video to reach this milestone. BI said how the ‘illa illa’ is about ‘hope’. We think that’s a great message for a song. This rings especially true after the rough times the world has been through over the past year and a bit. We must all have hope in difficult times and hope for the light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, “everyone has their own difficulties” and BI wants this message to shine through in the song “to bring comfort to those who listen to it”. BI states that the message of the lyrics “there is a space at the end of everything” and “remember that every chapter that ends just means that a new chapter is about to begin”.

Regarding the album as a whole, the album reached No. 2 on the iTunes Hip-Hop / Rap Album chart, staying there for 48 hours. He is currently at # 3. However, it peaked at first place in more than 20 countries.

BI embarked on a solo journey in 2020 by launching its own “131Label” with the best professionals in the industry. Their mission is to globalize Korean music. While keeping it authentic.

BI has always had a clear vision of the impact he wants his music to have. He wants to push the boundaries of Korean KPOP musicians from a simple Korean projector to a world stage.

We all know that music is a universal language. It doesn’t matter what culture you come from or what language you speak. Music is a universal language. Music is something that everyone can enjoy.

After years of training, several Korean Survival shows and her stage debut at just 13 years old. “BI is not afraid to break the frameworks built around it”. We believe that BI is unstoppable with its high level of motivation.

B. I currently have 66 songs listed under his name with the Korea Music Copyright Association. We think it’s amazing.
