Kelly Clarkson Covers Mary J. Blige’s ‘Just Fine’ | Kellyoke

Kelly Clarkson has a voice that won’t stop, and we don’t! On the Kelly Clarkson Spectacle, she showed off her versatile range with covers of pop and country songs. And this time? She shakes things up with a classic R&B homage.

On September 14, the singer blew us away with a rendition of “Just Fine” by the one and only Mary J. Blige. During her Kellyoke performance, Clarkson came on strong while being accompanied by a live band and some amazing backup singers. There she sang her heart out about feeling empowered and appreciating where you are at in life. “I’m gonna live my life, it’s so good to get it right,” she sang. The cheering crowd rose to their feet, moving to the beat. “Don’t stress all night, at some point in my life I don’t care if you feel it,” she continued, hitting the notes with ease.

Clearly a fan of Mary J. Blige, this isn’t the first time Clarkson has covered one of her songs on her show. In May, she performed one of Blige’s most successful early hits, “Real Love.” She ended up doing the song justice, making it her own with its powerful notes while honoring the essence of the original.

Best of all, the songs just keep coming. The highly anticipated season 4 of the talk show aired on September 12, with Clarkson appearing on stage in front of an audience in New York City while singing Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to New York.”
