K-POP World Festival Bangladesh 2021 audition winners announced

The South Korean Embassy in Dhaka has announced six winners of the 2021 K-pop World Festival Bangladesh audition.

The winners will be awarded by the Embassy and their performance videos will be submitted to the organizer of the Changwon K-pop World Festival 2021, which will be held in October in Korea depending on the COVID-19 situation.

The award ceremony will be held at the Embassy in the coming weeks, depending on the COVID-19 situation.

The competition took place virtually in June and July with the support of the Korean government and Samsung Electronics Bangladesh.

The six talented youth teams from Bangladesh were selected from the 142 teams that entered the competition by submitting their K-pop performance video clips.

The evaluation and pre-selection was carried out by a selection jury made up of five professionals from various sectors including media and academics in two stages.

Originally, the organizer planned to have the evaluation of the second phase on stage on July 30 but this was not possible due to the COVID-19 situation in the country.

Those chosen by the Korean organizer will be invited to the K-pop World Festival and will have the chance to compete with other qualified artists from around the world.

Shefa Tabassum, who received the first prize in the K-Pop competition organized by the Embassy in 2018, was invited to the Changwon K-Pop World Festival in Korea and won the best prize for a solo K-pop dance performance. .

The video works of the six winners will be shared on the Embassy’s YouTube channel.
