K-pop comebacks in August 2022: BLACKPINK, TXT and more

K-pop’s August 2022 comebacks will surely set your heart on fire. From world-renowned third-generation bands to solo releases, August’s lineup is impeccable and exciting.

However, with an extraordinary K-pop returning lineup, the competition is fierce. It would be interesting to see which K-pop artists welcome their comebacks. While international fans are most excited about BLACKPINK, second-generation girl group Girls’ Generation have a firm grip on South Korean K-pop stans.

K-pop comebacks set for thunderous show in August 2022

1) Girls’ Generation (SNSD)

Second-generation K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation is set to make their comeback in August 2022. The announcement was made on May 17, 2022 via their official Twitter account. The iconic girl group will return to rule the music industry with their new release to commemorate their 15th anniversary.

Girls’ Generation was originally a nine-member group until Jessica broke up in September 2014. Girl’s Generation was on hiatus for over five years. Their previous album, also their sixth album, vacation night, was released in August 2017.

The eight-member group rocked the internet with their comeback news as they are considered legendary by fans. They have significant successes such as Lionheart, tell me your wish (Genie)and, Damn it, Oh!, among many others.


World famous girl group BLACKPINK will be making a comeback in August 2022. This amazing update released by YG Entertainment on July 6, 2022 left fans in a frenzy. This is undoubtedly K-pop’s most anticipated comeback.

Additionally, according to the update, BLACKPINK will also be embarking on a world tour.

“In order to expand BLACKPINK’s emotional connection with fans around the world, they will be going on the biggest world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year with their comeback. From more, great projects corresponding to this status will follow permanently.

BLACKPINK’s latest full band album, The Scrapbook, came almost two years ago in October 2020. Amid the hiatus from group activities, the members released their solo projects. by Lisa LALISARoses Rand Jennie’s Solo were acclaimed.


On July 12, 2022, TWICE’s official Twitter account sent fans into a frenzy by announcing their comeback. The group is ready to charm fans with its 11th mini-album Between 1&2 on August 26, 2022.

They also shared a poster for Between 1 and 2, which had a switch with a pink heart. This new album will arrive after the release of their 2021 release. Love Formula: O+T= which was appreciated by fans all over the world.

4) Tomorrow X together (TXT)

Fourth-generation boy band Tomorrow X Together have become a fan favorite in just a few short years. The band has left no stone unturned when it comes to serving fans with top-notch artistry. It’s safe to say that this K-pop comeback has the potential to steal the show.

On June 28, 2022, TXT took to their Twitter account to announce their comeback. They are about to release their third Japanese single, good boy gone badon August 31, 2022.

The power station does not stop, like their latest mini album minisode 2: Thursday’s Child became the first K-pop album of 2022 to spend eight consecutive weeks on The Billboard 200.

5) IV

Girl group IVE joins the magnificent list of K-pop comebacks. Starship Entertainment, the group’s agency, released an official statement on July 18 confirming the news.

“I’m working hard to prepare for a comeback in August.”

The update came nearly three months after the band’s release LOVE DIVE on April 5, 2022. The single received massive reception, surpassing 100 million streams on Spotify.

It would be interesting to see the six-member group in line with other renowned girl groups BLACKPICK, Girls’ Generation and TWICE.


Five-member group CRAXY have announced their third mini-album Who am I scheduled for release on August 16, 2022. News of the K-pop group‘s comeback dropped on June 24, 2022, via their official Instagram account.

The girl group debuted on March 3, 2022 under SAI Entertainment with their first full album, My world. The group has yet to receive much praise from K-pop stans, however, their upcoming release binds hope.

7) DIA

Launched on September 17, 2015, the six-member girl group is set to make a comeback in August. According to some reports, the new release could be the final album marking DIA’s release as a group. However, according to a DIA representative,

“There is still a little time (for their contracts to end). It’s hard to say if the August album will be the last album.

The group will return to the front of the stage after two years. Their last release was their sixth mini-album Flower 4 Seasons in June 2020.

8) Choi Ye-Na

Choi Ye-na, popularly known as Yena, is set to make her solo comeback just six months after her debut solo project. Smileysreleased on January 17, 2022.

The poster of his new EP, Smartphone, was shared on July 16, 2022, via his official Twitter account. As a result, Yena is set to make her comeback on August 3, 2022 at 6 p.m. KST. Fans are excited to see what the former IZ*ONE member has to offer this time around.

Meanwhile, there have been many speculations about further K-pop comebacks in August 2022. Based on various sources and trends on social media platforms, fans are expecting groups of K-pop like Red Velvet and NCT 127 are releasing new music.

Moreover, soloist Ha Sung-woon could also serve the industry with his projects, but no confirmation or date has been provided so far. Without a doubt, K-pop comebacks in August will be fierce.
