Most couples celebrate an anniversary every year, but JoJo Siwa and his girlfriend, Kylie Prew, aren’t your average couple.
The pop star and her main pressure have celebrated four different birthdays since they started dating, and Siwa has explained the meaning of each date during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” this week.
Fallon kicked off the interview by congratulating the 18-year-old on her recent birthday, and the former “Dance Moms” star said she celebrated “one” of the birthdays this week.
âKy asked me to be the girlfriend on January 8th, but then I was like, ‘You know what? I have to ask you to be my girlfriend too.’ So we did, and yesterday was the anniversary of the day I asked Ky to be my girlfriend, âshe said.
The singer and TV personality went on to explain that the couple have several special days they’ve decided to celebrate this year.
âIn fact, we’re celebrating four days: when Ky asked me to be a girlfriend, when I asked Ky to be a girlfriend, when we said we loved each other and when we kissed for the first time. The four of us celebrate: (the) 8th, 14th, 28th and 29th, “she said.
Fallon couldn’t help but wonder if it ever got confusing to keep track of all these dates.
“Is it exhausting? ” He asked.
Siwa’s response made a lot of sense, however.
âI mean we’re in the eighth month now, and we’ll probably stop at a year,â she said.
Earlier this month, Siwa and Prew made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Siwa’s new movie, “The J Team,” and shared a sweet hug. The couple started dating in January 2021 and Siwa posted the first photo of his girlfriend in February with a love message.
“After being my best friend for over a year, on January 8, 2021, I started to call this exceptional human my girlfriend … and since then, I have been the happiest of my life!” she wrote at the time.
The pop star has had a busy summer and prepared to appear in the next season of “Dancing With the Stars”. She’s also set to make history, as the first contestant in the show’s 30 seasons to dance with a person of the same sex.
