Diego Gutierrez releases Tagalog song with international pop flavor

Diego Gutierrez and Anji Salvacion

Singer Diego Gutierrez has released a new song called “Sino Na Tayo”.

This new song marks the first time that Diego has recorded a song entirely in Tagalog. “It’s great to be able to record and release a song using a language that best expresses what my heart feels,” confesses the young singer. “As access to music becomes more global, I feel like I will really be able to connect more deeply with local listeners while maintaining broader international appeal.”

When asked to elaborate, the singer, who is regularly seen on “ASAP Natin ‘To” every Sunday, further elaborates, “Sino Na Tayo” is really the first time we’ve tried to write. a song entirely in Tagalog. Thinking back to the music I grew up with, hearing songs in Tagalog really felt more authentic and true to my roots. I wanted to tap into Filipino ‘hugot’ sentimentality and then hopefully connect it to a wider audience with an international pop vibe and arrangement.

But what is the song about? “The whole premise behind the track is about this realization between you and the person you love, and how time has obviously changed that connection. It’s about struggling to figure things out, where things went wrong, going down custody and realizing you’re about to lose someone you want to grow old with. All of this storytelling in an all-Tagalog song about a nostalgic yet futuristic production is hopefully feeling the emotional roller coaster that I wanted transmit in the song”, explains Diego.

By the way, a video clip of Diego’s song has just been completed. Shot in the beautiful Caliraya landscape and directed by Kashka Gaddi, Diego teams up with “Pinoy Big Brother’s” Anji Salvacion. This is definitely another thing to watch out for.

“Sino Na Tayo” was produced and arranged by super producer Mark J. Feist. The song’s lyrics were written by Diego Gutierrez and Wilde Quimson while the music was composed by Mark J. Feist under the Hitmakers Entertainment label. The song was released on June 24.
