BTS’s longest-standing brand partnership isn’t with McDonald’s or Louis Vuitton

BTS is a record-breaking boy group. They have collaborated with artists like Sia, Halsey and Megan Thee Stallion. They even got a Grammy nomination for their song “Butter”.

BTS has also been the ambassadors of several well-known brands, including Louis Vuitton and FILA.

BTS is one of the biggest boy groups in the world. It made sense that they collaborated with McDonald’s, one of the largest fast food chains in the world. This partnership was accompanied by the “BTS meal” added to McDonald’s stores around the world, in addition to promotional material for ARMYs.

While this menu item was only available for a limited time, some BTS Meal products and packaging are still resold on websites like eBay for double (or triple) their original cost. It wouldn’t be the only food and beverage company working with BTS, as the K-pop group has released official merchandise at select Starbucks stores.

They have also appeared in campaigns with The Coca-Cola Company, a particularly significant milestone given the reach of the beverage business. However, one of BTS’s longest-running brand deals is with shoe brand / sports company, PUMA.

As one of the longest-running brand deals, BTS first worked with sports and leisure shoe company PUMA. They’ve appeared in campaigns carrying the merchandise, even wearing PUMA merchandise during rehearsals.

In 2019, BTS ended its five-year partnership with PUMA, later collaborating with South Korean sportswear manufacturer FILA. This was in conjunction with FILA’s “One World, One FILA” message and brought the K-pop group new advertising opportunities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

BTS is now Louis Vuitton global ambassador

Right after the release of their song “Butter,” BTS announced their partnership with the French fashion house and luxury goods company Louis Vuitton. With their love for fashion, this collaboration did not surprise fans.

“I am delighted that BTS is joining Louis Vuitton today,” said Virgil Abloh, men’s artistic director at Vuitton, in a statement. “I look forward to this wonderful partnership, which adds a modern chapter to the house, fusing luxury and contemporary culture. I can’t wait to share all of the very exciting projects we are working on.

Prior to working with Louis Vuitton, BTS partnered with fashion house Dior, even being the recipients of custom stage clothing designed by Kim Jones. They became the first male pop group to receive custom tracks in the process.

BTS also partnered with Hyundai on several commercials, later working with electronics company Samsung.

In addition to their branded deals, BTS is working with other artists to release original music. Most recently this included Coldplay for the song “My Universe” and Megan Thee Stallion for a remixed version of “Butter”.

The music of this K-pop group is available on most of the major streaming platforms.
