Blackpink’s ‘Kill This Love’ surpasses 600 million streams on Spotify

Girl group Blackpink’s “Kill This Love” has surpassed 600 million streams on Spotify, according to group agency YG Entertainment on Monday.

The record comes 10 months after the song broke the 500 million mark in September.

According to YG, Blackpink is the only K-pop girl group to have over 600 million streams on the platform.

His other song “How You Like That” (2020) also surpassed 600 million streams earlier this year.

“How You Like That” is a lead track from the band’s full album “The Album”. Selling over 1.4 million copies, “The Album” was the first million-selling album by a K-pop girl group. It also debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and the Official UK Albums Chart. He received awards such as the MTV Video Music Award for Best Song of the Summer in 2020 and the Golden Disc Award for Songs in 2021.

“Kill This Love” is the title track from the band’s EP of the same name. It was released in April 2019 and debuted at No. 41 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart. It received the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Music Video of 2019 and the iHeartRadio Music Award for Favorite Music Video Choreography of 2020.

Blackpink debuted in 2016 with their debut single “Square One” and released hit tracks such as “Playing with Fire” (2016), “Forever Young” (2018) and “Lovesick Girls” (2020).

The group will return to the K-pop scene with music in August. The exact date of return has not yet been specified.
